bio
Sean Costas is an actor, videographer, and still photographer. He began shooting clay-animation movies on Super-8 film at age 12, and earned a degree in Cinema-TV Production from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles.
Sean worked in film & video production for 20 years, twelve of them in Hollywood. He has worked with Academy, Emmy, Tony, Grammy, and Golden Globe award-winning actors, directors, producers and cinematographers; and performed camera and lighting work for nearly every Motion Picture Studio and National Television Network in the US. His credits include Hollywood blockbusters, award-winning Independent films, prime-time episodic TV shows, commercials, corporate videos, documentaries, children’s sitcoms, and streaming broadcasts with major recording artists.
Sean learned how to apply his visual storytelling skills to marketing when he launched a successful Southern California business that bought, restored and sold classic 4WD vehicles online. He used strong market research, copywriting, photography, and customer service to generate healthy profits in a highly competitive market. As the business grew, he furthered his technical knowledge by earning a degree in Automotive Technology from Wyotech in Long Beach, CA.
In 2011 Sean relocated to a popular tourism area of Northern Minnesota. He became an active resident of a local arts center and began creating commercials and corporate videos for several large Minnesota company websites and social media channels. Building on his previous marketing experience he learned how to combine SEO keyword scripting strategies with Hollywood storytelling techniques to increase company web traffic and engagement by up to 500,000 views per year. His work was often directly responsible for the sale of expensive products and services to new prospects as far away as Florida, Texas, and the West Coast.
The experience of serving as these marketing videos' on-camera host combined with Sean’s new arts center pursuits in dance, music performance and theatre to ignite his passion for acting and the performing arts. So in late 2018, he launched Hollywood To Go with the mission of producing media that promotes entertainers, musicians, and performing artists; and to serve as an online portfolio for his post-Hollywood acting, photography, and videography work. For 2021, Sean is taking Hollywood To Go on the road, providing fully mobile production to anyone, anywhere, anytime.
Sean is a trained axemaster (axe throwing instructor) and former competitive epee (rapier) fencer who is currently learning stage combat. He enjoys hiking, fishing, swing dancing, playing piano, making people laugh, and trying to snowboard without making people laugh. He has performed professionally on-cast at the Colorado and Minnesota Renaissance Festivals as wandering street characters Squire Sludge of Backwater and Don Quixote.
